October 1st & 2nd Sawmill Tours

October's visits to the Joel Hill Water-Powered, Civil War Era Sawmill are usually the most striking. Trees are at maximum color, recent rains have refilled the mill pond, and the waterfall is pouring briskly down the hillside. Tours must be booked ahead of time by calling Greg at 570-798-2420. On Saturday,October 1st, tours are at 10 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Sunday's Oct. 2nd tour is at 1 p.m. only. You are also welcome to visit the Cleveland Museum of early industrial equipment. The Sawmill crew works year round to coax the old machinery into operation. Tours of the mill and the museum are free of charge, but donations are always very welcome. The mill and museum are accessed from PA Rte.191. A sign is posted on the highway. Turn onto Creek Rd., right at the T intersection and immediately left on Duck Harbor Rd. The Sawmill and Museum are on your left. The address for your GPS is 736 Duck Harbor Rd., Equinunk. The crew encourages anyone who has an interest in being part of this endeavor to contact the Equinunk Historical Society at 570-224-6722.
