May 24th - EHS Presents Its Memorial Day Weekend Program on Saturday

On Saturday, May 24th, on this very special weekend, EHS will hold its well-known program honoring a military veteran. This year we will honor a neighbor who is very much with us in every way. Fred Blauth is not only a member of the Joel Hill Sawmill crew, he is a veteran with 31 years of service in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.  In 2005 and 2006, Fred served in both Iraq and Honduras as an E6 Staff Sargeant, flying an Army SHERPA C-23 helicopter, and as Crew Chief of a UH1 Helicopter. Chuck Heyn, also a veteran and Sawmill crew member will host this program. EHS opens at noon; the program will begin at 1 p.m.

This memorable program is a great way to celebrate Memorial Day, especially for the younger members of the family who may not yet be fully aware of meaning of Memorial Day. After Fred's talk, attendees will walk a short distance to the Equinunk Cemetery, and place flags on the veterans' graves. We'll cap off activities back at the museum with a traditional Ice Cream Social.  The program is free. All are welcome.

We hope you can join us.
